Trackbacks are confusing…but there’s help

This is a wonderful page to help you understand when to use a trackback and when to use a pingback. The blogger also allows you to test to see if it works by testing it directly on their blog! Thanks to them.

P.S. If you use wordpress, as I do, all you have to do is copy the trackback into the actual post and it does the rest. Very cool feature for wordpress users.

    If you use wordpress, as I do, all you have to do is copy the trackback into the actual post and it does the rest. Very cool feature for wordpress users.

    Actually, all you have to do is copy the permalink (not the trackback URL) in the actual post for it to pingback the blog. The trackback URL is only to be used in the specific “Send trackbacks to:” box in the posting screen. :)

    You are right and thanks for the correction. I realized that after I had posted this. WordPress takes a lot of the guess work out of blogging.
